Debugging

This website contains links to software which is either no longer maintained or will be supported only until the end of 2019 (CKFinder 2). For the latest documentation about current CKSource projects, including software like CKEditor 4/CKEditor 5, CKFinder 3, Cloud Services, Letters, Accessibility Checker, please visit the new documentation website.

If you look for an information about very old versions of CKEditor, FCKeditor and CKFinder check also the CKEditor forum, which was closed in 2015. If not, please head to StackOverflow for support.

Debugging

The editor brings you a nice tool that helps you debug your code when customizing it to your needs through plugins or direct changes in the source code. You can enable debugging on it and a debug window will popup with your debugging messages.

To enable it just set the following key in the fckconfig.js file or in your custom Configuration File:

FCKConfig.Debug = true ;

Debug Output

Then, in your code, to show messages in the debug window, you can use the FCKDebug object. It has a single method called "Output" that sends messages to the debug window. This is its syntax:

FCKDebug.Output( message, color, noParse );

Debug Output Object

FCKDebug.OutputObject( anyObject, color );
