How Do I Support the Development of CKFinder (and CKEditor, too!)?

This website contains links to software which is either no longer maintained or will be supported only until the end of 2019 (CKFinder 2). For the latest documentation about current CKSource projects, including software like CKEditor 4/CKEditor 5, CKFinder 3, Cloud Services, Letters, Accessibility Checker, please visit the new documentation website.

If you look for an information about very old versions of CKEditor, FCKeditor and CKFinder check also the CKEditor forum, which was closed in 2015. If not, please head to StackOverflow for support.

CKFinder is a commercial (paid) application that was built to complement CKEditor, but can also be used as a standalone product or integrated with various custom solutions. We do not make it obligatory to use CKEditor with CKFinder — on the contrary, the editor was created with interoperability in mind and we provide extensive API and documentation that make it easy to integrate it with any file browser you prefer.

CKEditor is and has always been an Open Source product. We are proud to be a part of the Open Source movement and are happy that we can offer the result of long hours of our work completely for free to everyone who wants to use the editor.

We managed to build a company based on the success of our free editor. We can not accept donations for our work, so the cost of the CKEditor and CKFinder development and enhancements is covered from the commercial licenses that are available.

If you appreciate our work and want to support the development of our products, it will be most welcome. Here are a couple of things that you can do:

  • Buy a CKFinder license and/or a commercial CKEditor license. This will not only let you support the development of new features, but will also give you access to a dedicated support channel where our developers are available to help you solve any issues you might have.
  • Help localize CKFinder into your native language and update existing localizations.
  • Join the Community Forum and share your knowledge with fellow CKFinder users and developers. You can also use the forum to report bugs or submit feature requests.

Thank you for your support and for helping us make our products better every day!
