Introduction to the User's Guide

This website contains links to software which is either no longer maintained or will be supported only until the end of 2019 (CKFinder 2). For the latest documentation about current CKSource projects, including software like CKEditor 4/CKEditor 5, CKFinder 3, Cloud Services, Letters, Accessibility Checker, please visit the new documentation website.

If you look for an information about very old versions of CKEditor, FCKeditor and CKFinder check also the CKEditor forum, which was closed in 2015. If not, please head to StackOverflow for support.

The User's Guide is a documentation regarding to all the features of FCKeditor. It explains how the program works and gives an oportunity to learn about all its functions.The guide is divided into several sections. They are listed in the User's Guide main page and appear as below:


Each section represents a group of functions or tasks which should be explained together. To access a section simply press the underlined link with its name. It will instantly re-direct you to the section page. You can always go back to the main page or to the pages catagorized in the same section by using links sittuated in the top of the page.

Some of the pages are divided into subsections regarding to a function or a group of functions. They are always listed in the top of the page

by clicking one of the lists positions the page will move to the section you chose.

Every function explained in the guide comes with a screenshot and usually with an example. The examples are always placed in a framed window with an "Example" word before.

IMPORTANT: because FCKeditor is configurable and its functions are customized by the developer, not all of the functions explained in the User's Guide may be avaivable for your usage. Also have notice that the skins of the editor can be different so screenshots used in this User's Guide may look different than in your FCKeditor as well.
